Assigned Radio Frequencies

Starting with the 2006 DBF contest frequencies are being assigned 1 frequency per University/Campus Location. Universities having multiple teams will be required to self-manage sharing of the assigned frequency between their teams. This change is necessary to accommodate the increased number of teams entered in the competition.

It is possible this requirement will go away in the near future as new radios are being developed and tested that will automatically handle frequency allocation and prevent any possible conflicts. When that technology becomes readily available and mature enough we will bring it into the DBF contest. They will not be allowed for the 2006 contest year.

“IF” some teams have submitted an official withdrawal from the contest prior to 1 week before the contest date we will notify those schools with multiple teams and will make the then unused frequencies available on a first come first served basis.
