2004 DBF Q&A #2
5 Nov 03
Q: Are we allowed to glue components together during the assembly of the plane?
A: No. Although the assembly is not timed this year, the aircraft should still be able to be assembled/disassembled the same as last year.
Q: Is the vent tube height included in the fuselage height for the RAC?
A: An un-faired (bare) metal vent tube will not be included in the fuselage height for the RAC. If any type of additional structure/fairing/brace/duct is added, then the maximum height of any element of the total assembly will be used for the fuselage height in the RAC. Retractable vent/outlet fairings will included in the fuselage height in their stowed position, but will count as an additional servo/controller function in the "Flight Systems" portion of the RAC (along with the dump valve actuator).
