2001 Fly Off

  1. Access for Visitors

  2. – There will be no access to the contest for "walk-in" visitors. All entrants, workers and visitors must be cleared by security in advance of the contest. The "drop dead" date for getting security information for ALL persons associated with your team to me is 22 February 2001.
  3. Shipping of aircraft direct to Webster

  4. – You can ship your aircraft direct to the contest. If you use the following shipping address we will make sure your aircraft is at the contest site by noon on Friday for tech. You should verify with your shipper that the aircraft will arrive at the shipping address no later than 5pm on Wednesday. Pick-up for return shipments should be scheduled for Tuesday. I don’t know what issues may arise for customs clearance for foreign teams, you may want to ship to an agent here in the US who can clear customs, then re-ship to Webster for the contest.

  5. Hanger

  6. – We will have use to a portion of the hanger on the ramp that we used last time. As with Wichita, space will be at a premium so only your aircraft will be allocated space in the hanger. Crates, supply boxes, toolboxes, chairs for spectators will all be kept outside the hanger. You may bring an Ex-Up or similar if you want to setup a shelter outside.
  7. Food on site

  8. – We are working the details but plan to have a vendor onsite for food, or you can bring your own. However, there will be no cooking equipment allowed on the field except for the official vendor.
  9. Parts vendor on site

  10. – We are investigating the possibility of have a repair parts vendor on the field. If not, we will be able to direct teams to the nearest hobby shop, but it is about an hour drive each way. As always, bringing your own spares is a good idea.
  11. We plan to arrange a host-your-own dinner and social evening for Saturday night. Details will be given at the contest.
