We wish to remind teams that the rules limit propulsion to "unmodified, over the counter model aircraft electric motors". (See "Aircraft Requirements - General") To clarify, this means that the motors and controllers MUST be part of the manufacturers standard line published price list, must be commonly available and manufactured for the model industry (we will also allow model boat, car or train motors). Special winds are allowed, but no "custom" size or custom development motors. For example, from Aveox this means motors are restricted to 1409, 1412, 1406, 1817, and 2310 motor systems with standard voltage controllers. For safety, motors MUST be operated within the manufacturers recommended voltage and current limits. Please confirm your receipt of this e-mail by sending an e-mail to greg.page@nrl.navy.mil.
