NEW
for the 1998/99 Year
- The limit on battery pack weight is removed.
- A maximum wing span limit is imposed.
- Payload is changed from a specified weight steel payload,
to a variable weight, lower density water payload. A minimum payload
"capacity" is set, but teams may choose to fly with
either more or less than that amount of payload on any sortie.
- The design objective is changed to the sum of the weight carried
on multiple sorties (flights) within a specified time period.
- Provisions are made for partial scoring of aircraft experiencing
some degree of damage upon landing.
- The radio FailSafe provisions will be strictly enforced.
- Radio Frequencies will be assigned. Teams may request a frequency
with their application. A teams prior year frequency will be given
priority. Remaining requests will be honored on a first-come first-served
basis . Requests for a frequency already assigned will be given
a second choice of one of the un-assigned frequencies.
